No. Nexmo is built for a single local network. Your Apple device and your Fire TV must be connected to the same home Wi-Fi.
Some apps may block screen capture for protected content. In those cases the mirrored area may appear blank by design.
Yes. The Mac download is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS can verify it has not been tampered with.
